Report Amstel Ice Swim

30 December 2017 the first dutch ice swimming open in the canals of Amsterdam. A superb event, beautifully organized a very friendly and warm team.

On the day of 5 Races (1000 M, 100 m, 200 m, 50 m, 500 m) in total 1850 m and 44 min in a water to 4,5 degrees. Cumulation is never easy because there is a thermodynamic inertia of cooling that persists after the bath. After the last race I feel a facial contracture (Masseter) and back (large left dorsal). Rest assured, not a heart attack, but a simple effect of the cold. It's time to stop! Little reminder the IISA recommends not to exceed 45 min in icy water per day.
